On the right side of the Pentax K10D digital SLR camera there is a flap concealing the external contacts for USB, the external power supply and the remote control. There is no contact for a studio flash, which is a pity in a camera in this class. It is true that this can be remedied simply with an optional accessory, but the camera is not complete without a studio flash contact. On the other side, there is a door concealing the Secure Digital memory card. As you would expect from a new camera, the Pentax K10D can use high capacity SDHC cards. This is not an unnecessary luxury with a ten Megapixel image sensor.
Pentax clearly doesn't like to do things by halves and has produced a digital SLR camera that will be seen as a serious competitor for the Canon EOS 30D and the Nikon D200. These two currently set the standard in this camera segment. To see if Pentax had succeeded in setting a new standard, we tried the K10D out for an extended period. You can read our findings in the following Pentax K10D digital SLR camera review.
