Many functions overlap on HD Video Cameras but one that is new to me on the KODAK PLAYFULL is the ability to edit the videos taken right on the camera. Taking video with 3 kids can be a bit chaotic and sometimes I can get a great shot, only to end it with an argument between the two oldest or the baby crying because she’s had enough. Now I can edit as I go, which in turn saves room on my memory card as well.

The KODAK PLAYFULL HD records in full 1080p high definition which is great for displaying the video later on your HD TV. If you plan to simply use the video taken for sharing online, you can switch modes and record in WVGA which can then save you considerable space on your memory card.
The Kodak Playfull Video Camera does a solid job, offering good-quality video with easy sharing in a very small camera. That small body, though, means you get a tiny screen, and you give up some other features. The Sony Bloggie Touch, the Flip UltraHD and the ($299, 3 stars) aren't exactly hefty, and any of those three will offer a bigger screen, slightly better video quality, and built-in storage for right around the same price. If smaller is better for you, go for the Playfull, but otherwise embrace the slight size upgrade and get a better camcorder.
